Bearpaw Heli-Skiing is one of the few remaining owner-operated heli-ski operations, rooted in a deep love for the mountains, the backcountry, and the thrill of fresh tracks.
Based in Sinclair Mills, BC, on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh, we offer exclusive small-group heli-skiing in some of the world’s best tree skiing. With warm hospitality and a handcrafted log lodge that feels more like a home base than a hotel, it’s no wonder Outside Magazine named us one of the Coolest Backcountry Lodges.
We specialize in private, small-group experiences. From your first run to your final toast back at the lodge, every moment is built around you.
Whether you go full throttle or take it slow, each day is tailored to your style.

We’re Kevin Taylor and Amber Shipley—founders, owners, and lifelong backcountry skiers. After decades exploring this region, Bearpaw Heli-Skiing became the natural expression of that deep connection.
In 2003, we applied for tenure in terrain we knew was world-class. It was granted in 2009: 1.2 million acres spanning four spectacular mountain ranges. By then, we had already built Binchi Lodge by hand—blending our love for skiing with our craft in log and timber construction.
This place is personal, and that’s exactly how we run it.
We welcome just eight guests per week, skiing in two groups of four. Each group skis with one to two certified guides and flies in a nimble AStar B3 helicopter—offering direct access to remote lines, fast laps, and a sky-high perspective you won’t forget.
All of our guides are professional ski guides and members of the ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides), CSGA (Canadian Ski Guide Association), and CAA (Canadian Avalanche Association). Their deep knowledge of terrain and snow safety means you’re always in good hands.
Before heading into the mountains, every guest receives avalanche safety training and a helicopter briefing. We’re proud members of HeliCat Canada and partner only with trusted helicopter carriers.
We don’t do crowds, clock-watching, or cookie-cutter ski days. Whether you’re chasing vertical or pausing for extra photos, your guides will help craft the experience you want.
