We take safety seriously because it’s the foundation of every great heli-ski experience. Our small-group model, highly trained team, and structured safety protocols are all designed to minimize risk while maximizing enjoyment in the backcountry.
All of our guides are certified professionals through the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides or Canadian Ski Guide Association, and are members of the Canadian Avalanche Association. With decades of combined experience, they are experts at assessing terrain, reading snow conditions, and making real-time decisions to keep guests safe. Many guides also work year-round in mountain safety, parks management, and search and rescue.

Before you ever board the helicopter, you’ll participate in a mandatory avalanche safety training session. You’ll learn how to use the Barryvox transceiver, shovel, probe, Arcteryx Litric avalanche airbag, and handheld radio—all provided as part of your gear. Our team will walk you through heli safety protocols, backcountry etiquette, and what to expect throughout the day.
We have detailed response procedures in place for every scenario, and our location, just 90 minutes from Prince George, gives us relatively quick access to emergency services if ever needed.
All guests are required to read and sign our waiver twice: once before paying the deposit, and again after completing the guest orientation and safety presentation.

Heli-skiing takes place in a dynamic mountain environment. While we take every possible measure to mitigate risk, there are inherent dangers associated with backcountry skiing.
We believe safety is a shared responsibility: our guides bring expertise and training, and we ask that guests bring awareness, respect for the terrain, and a willingness to follow instructions.
